July 20th to August 14th

Through the magic of the internet, New Zealand students could follow teacher, Pauline McLeod, through her visit to the Chata community in rural Malawi. Pauline spent time with Patsaubweze and Chimbeleko, two young boys who feature in the new World Vision materials "A Smile from Malawi" and "Something to Smile About" (available through your local educational bookseller - New Zealand only).

Pauline travelled to Malawi in July 1998 and linked up with schools via this site. She updated this almost daily with diary notes, stories, photographs and even video footage of the people she met and the things she saw during her visit. Schools also received weekly faxes and the opportunity to participate in audioconferences for the four weeks of the programme (July 20th to August 14th 1998).

Students could e-mail their questions and schools could send selected students' work. The best of these will be added to the web site. You can still send questions or email poems, stories or artwork to education.nz@worldvision.org.nz

The Sunflower Connection is sponsored by Meadow-Lea Sunflower Margarine.

TASK: Rearrange the puzzle pieces to complete the scenes. Then you can use the picture to play "I spy" with a friend. Just choose a picture, give a letter or colour clue, and see how long it takes your friend to guess it.
